Why do people tend to think that South Korea is more developed than Taiwan?

Trust me, most of my friend think that China (not Taiwan, China) is more developed than South Korea. They think we should drop our nukes (they think we are North Korean), and they think Samsung and LG is Japanese. One guy thought it was Chinese and I got pissed off. You will get use to it. We are all part of 4 asian tigers.
