Cons: What do you think it is that libs have to gain from pretending the planet is dying?

because of human waste--gas emissions etc. I am wondering why last night i was watching TV and all these people with degrees in physics, anthropology, biology, & etymology were talking about how the planet is dying, and why Cons still believe these people are lying
