Exactly where in the Bible is polygamy forbidden?

its not forbidden anywhere in the bible. as a matter of fact many of the patriarchs had more than one wife. However, Paul wrote that a person holding a position of teacher or holding position in the church should only have one wife. it was a guideline for choosing people for important positions in the church presumably to keep one from having to deal with regular domestic disruptions which would distract from God's work
