Help with deductive reasoning?
Deductive reasoning means you start with the known and work from there to figure out the unknown. We know that Fritz is not from the East since he finished last. We know that Daisy is not from the East because she came in second. That means that either Patsy or Jake won the race and is from the east. Patsy is not the winner, but the sister of the winner. That leaves only Jake, therefore he is the winner, and hence, from the East. Daisy is from the opposite side of town as Jake, therefore she is from the West. Fritz finished after the turtle from the North, which could only be Patsy. That leaves Fritz as being from the South.
