5hp briggs stratton question (on details)?

I have a 5hp briggs and stratton engine i took the governor off and now i was wondering if it would blow up like a grenade because i herd it would and if so what can i do to the engine to prevent it also i know not to hold it at WOT but thats what i am wanting to know is if i can change some stuff in the engine to beable to make it to where i can run it at WOT cause i like to go fast if there is parts i have to buy tell me where to find the parts and how much they may cost and tell me what else i can do to modifiy the engine to make it go faster but realy first tell me if it will blow up then tell me what to do to prevent it from happening if there is any thing to do ok well let me know something plzz!!!!!??????
